TYPO3 is open source software onder de GNU General Public License. Dit betekent dat wij software leveren zonder kosten en wettelijke verplichtingen. Dit is altijd al zo geweest en het zal altijd zo blijven.

TYPO3 Community - Alive and kicking

TYPO3 heeft een zeer actieve community met verschillende teams en commissies om te zorgen voor de continue ontwikkeling en verbetering van TYPO3.

Afhankelijk van de vaardigheden die nodig zijn voor de verscheidenheid aan taken worden deze door verschillende teams voor de gehele TYPO3 producten range afgehandeld.

Het core team, een selectie van specialisten, is verantwoordelijk voor de ontwikkeling van de kernfuncties van TYPO3. Zij passen deze naar de behoeften en eisen van de gebruikers en ontwikkelaars aan in samenwerking met andere teams. Maatregelen voor de lopende kwaliteitsborging zoals: unit testen, code versiebeheer, code beoordeling en het project management zijn een integraal onderdeel van de community.

Voor Nederlandse gemeenten is er een speciale TYPO3 vereniging: TYPO3 gem. Deze vereniging biedt een platform om digitale ontwikkelingen binnen gemeentes samen aan te pakken. 

TYPO3 evenementen

Een wereldwijd scala van verschillende gebeurtenissen rondom TYPO3 biedt potentiële en bestaande klanten, ontwikkelaars of TYPO3 beginners, de mogelijkheid om een idee te krijgen van het prestatievermogen en de laatste ontwikkelingen binnen de TYPO3 familie.  

Op de internationale TYPO3 conferenties kun je in contact komen met de TYPO3 community. Je kunt in contact komen met gelijkgestemde mensen in het bedrijfsleven, marketeers, ontwikkelaars en klanten. Je ontvangt up-to-date informatie over TYPO3 en webontwikkelingen in Nederland, Europa, Noord-Amerika en Azië.

Nationale comités en teams organiseren cursussen, camps voor TYPO3 integrators en gebruikers, evenals de beroemde TYPO3 Developer Days.

Speciaal voor nieuw geïnteresseerden wordt er ook een 'Meet TYPO3' georganiseerd.

In 2015 introduceerde de TYPO3 opleidingscommissie een speciale dag voor aankomende en bestaande TYPO3 gecertificeerde ontwikkelaars: de #CertiFUNcation Day. Deze vond plaats in één van de grootste themaparken van Europa: Phantasialand bij Keulen, Duitsland. Dit gaf TYPO3 ontwikkelaars de kans om hun kennis van TYPO3 op te frissen, de meest actuele informatie rechtstreeks uit het hart van de community te krijgen, ervaringen uit te wisselen met gelijkgestemde mensen en nieuwe zakelijke kansen te creëren. 

De jaarlijkse T3Board biedt de mogelijkheid om deel te nemen aan een snowboard- en ski-tour om de TYPO3 community te ontmoeten. Als je niet van kou houdt, dan kun je ook beginnen om je TYPO3- en zeil-vaardigheden tijdens T3Sail te verbeteren!
